Welcome Rev. Jon Turner!

July 2, 2013

jon-turner-300pxWe are thrilled to finally welcome Rev. Jon Turner, his wife Jessica and children Michaela and Alyssa! Having arrived from the UK in early June, Jon will be assuming the role of Associate Executive Minister for the CABC effective July 2nd.

Working closely with Executive Minister Dr. Peter Reid, and the other Associate Executive Ministers Rev. Greg Jones and Dr. Garth Williams, Jon will give oversight to the Atlantic Baptist Mission Board as well as church planting, new congregations, church renewal and more.

Jon is an ordained minister and specialist evangelist accredited by the Baptist Union of Great Britain. Before coming to Canada, Jon worked as the Director of Mission for the Saltmine Trust in partnership with the Heart of England Baptist Association. Duties with Saltmine included directing and developing evangelistic strategies and outreach, leading specialist mission teams on cross cultural mission both in the U.K. and overseas. He has done professional mission consultancy for churches investigating new forms of missional outreach and church growth. His work also involved working with Regional Ministers identifying potential new churches and new congregations as well as assessing possible church planters and pioneering new church plants.

Executive Minister Dr. Peter Reid reflects on the three Associate Executive Ministers: “I am really looking forward to working with the new team. I see the right mix of skills, gifts, leadership, experience and passion for God’s Kingdom in our new Senior Staff Team and I believe there are great days ahead.”

Please join us in making Jon and his family feel very welcome here in Atlantic Canada. Come to Oasis, meet Jon and show him some of our famous hospitality!
