Refugee Sponsorship
The CBAC is a government recognized Sponsorship Agreement Holder. We can help with training, information sessions, and selection of a family for sponsorship.
Please note: We are unable to assist with unsolicited applications for permanent residence from refugees overseas.

Information & Documents
- Sponsorship Streams – There are 3 streams that a sponsor may consider. This sheet describes the 3 different streams and the implications on the sponsor (difference in government support, processing time, and expectations).
- Sponsorship Team – We recommend that all groups put a Sponsorship Team in place to give leadership and oversight to the details that will need to be coordinated in sponsorship. We suggest a team of 6 – 10 people.

- Sponsorship Team Leader’s Role Description
- Handbook for Refugee Sponsorship: If you’re looking for detailed information about refugee sponsorship, we’d suggest that you download this resource made available through the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program.
- Information sheet for newcomers that want to bring their relatives to Canada
- Financial Planning BVOR Cases
- Denominational SAH Partnership Agreement – All Churches choosing to partner with the CBAC as your Sponsorship Agreement Holder (SAH) are required to enter into this agreement with the CBAC before your application process is finalized. There is a $200 fee payable to the CBAC (at the time of application) to help offset some of our administrative costs as your SAH. The CBAC is happy to assist you:
- by answering any questions that you may have;
- with the completion of the sponsorship application form;
- with the selection of your sponsorship individual/family;
- by reviewing your application form prior to submission to the government to avoid delays in processing;
- by supporting you for the 12-month sponsorship period once the family arrives.
