Springforth 2013 – Run The Race

May 31, 2013

sf-2013-ms-webHundreds of youth and leaders from across our Convention traveled to Moncton, NB on May 10-11, 2013 for an annual youth event, Springforth, which focused on the theme “Run the Race”.

This event is a highlight for many youth and has a rich history of changing lives for Christ. This year was no different. God was at work during this weekend, and we will see the fruit for weeks and even years to come. This event is helped made possible through the partial sponsorship by our Convention’s United in Mission Fund.

A highlight every year is watching the youth respond to the offering challenge. 2013 was the second year of a three year commitment to raise funds to support one community in Kenya, Africa through Canadian Baptist Ministries’ work in food security programs. This year Springforth youth graciously gave over $5000 to help provide seeds to families in Kenya, Africa. Youth are committed to making a difference in their world.

We are thankful to all of our speakers, worship leaders and volunteers who helped out in a variety of ways to make this event happen. Thank-you as well to the many adult volunteers from many of our local Baptist churches; we greatly appreciate the time they gave over the weekend to invest in the lives of the next generation. A team effort and lots of prayer are needed to make an event like this happen. Our prayer is that God’s Kingdom has been advanced and lives were changed as a result of Springforth 2013; we look forward to hearing the stories.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Moncton in May 2014!
