Link 2018 Recap

October 4, 2018

It’s fall again and that means another LINK retreat for our Clergy Teens and this year we were back at Camp Wildwood in Bouctouche, just outside Moncton, New Brunswick. It is always good to be at Camp Wildwood, because Geoff and his staff look after us so well, with a great facility, great food and so easy to work with.

This year we moved to the last weekend in September and had some amazing weather. Our group was made up of 27 campers and 9 staff who were comprised of Adam and Faith Moore who lead worship and counselled, other counsellors were Caleb Moore, Danielle Leger, and Sarah MacDonald. Micah Knowles was our guest speaker and also doubled as a counsellor. Micah’s wife Emily came along and helped out as a counsellor.

The weekend is comprised of several times of worship, games, some special activities like canoeing, the climbing wall, also others studied for school, we had some down time to just chill with each other and some played some different games in the lodge. Saturday night’s highlight is always the Saturday Night Live where the talents of this amazing group of kids is showcased and you just never know what will happen or be shared. But it is always a great time had by all.

I have been the director of LINK now for four years but ironically I am not a Pastor’s Kid, but this year I was made an Honourary Pastor’s Kid by the group.

This event is a highlight for all who attend and I would like to encourage the Pastor’s who have teenagers to make it a priority to get them to LINK for the encouragement, friendship and support that is experienced at this retreat. Plans are already in process for LINK 2019.
