Refresh this year was an absolutely awesome event! We had 71 women from our Atlantic Canadian churches at Bayside Camp in Sambro Head Nova Scotia for the weekend of Nov. 2-4. Sandy Sutherland spoke to us 4 times, working within our theme of Daughters of the King on the aspects of being a Princess of our Lord and King. One of our own, Cheryl Pickens, volunteered her time and set up a ‘spa’ where we could be pampered. We even had a hot tub set up outside so we could revel in the lakeside view as we were warmed.
Each year we have a panel of our peers who share with us their experience and wisdom on previously assigned questions. This is such an insightful way for us to learn how others handle issues that are unique to us as ministry families. Kesa Munroe-Anderson and her team were even more that we had hoped for as they led us in worship. Our program planners – Rachel Sparks and Pam Cook kept us entertained and challenged. We were also able to reduce the cost for each camper because of a gracious grant given to us by the Atlantic Baptist Foundation.
As a committee we worked hard to make sure we provided the very best and tried to create an event spiritually uplifting and at the same time fun! Perhaps the best part of our working together as a committee is that we have become great friends and a support for each other in our ministries in the Fredericton Area.
