Winter Courses for ADC’s NB Extension

November 14, 2012

The New Brunswick Extension of Acadia Divinity College’s Master of Divinity program continues to grow. Three courses will be offered in New Brunswick beginning in January 2013.

Director of the NB Extension, Dr. Stephen McMullin, is encouraging anyone interested to take these courses either for credit or audit. “I am hoping that many people in the area will take advantage of the opportunities to learn and to be better equipped for ministry and leadership in our churches.”

One core course is being offered in New Brunswick this winter: Dr. Anna Robbins, ADC’s new academic dean, will teach THEO 5023 “Christian Theology 2” at Skyline Acres Baptist Church in Fredericton (Jan. 25-26, March 1-2, April 5-6). Anna grew up in Saint John where she was active at Central Baptist Church. She has returned to ADC after serving for several years at the London School of Theology.

There are two courses being offered in the Saint John-Kings Association area this coming winter.

  • Interpreting the New Testament” (BIBL 5033) – Dr. Craig Evans (Apohaqui, NB). The class will be held at Atlantic Community Church on a Friday/Saturday schedule January 11-12, February 1-2, and March 8-9 (classes begin Friday at 2 p.m. and end on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.).
  • Bringing Renewal to Established Congregations” (EVAN 3023/6023) – Dr. Stephen McMullin (Saint John, NB). This course is specifically designed to provide practical and Biblical guidance for established congregations in Atlantic Canada that need renewed spiritual vitality and a renewed sense of mission. The class will be at Main Street Church, and will also be on a Friday/Saturday schedule: January 18-19, February 15-16, and March 15-16.

“I am hoping that many people in the area will take advantage of the opportunities to learn and to be better equipped for ministry and leadership in our churches.”
