Religion Soup

In January, a debate/dialogue titled “Does the New Testament present a reliable portrait of the Historical Jesus?” will take place on January 19th at St. Mary’s University and January 20th at Acadia University. Sponsored in part by Acadia Divinity College, the dialogues will feature Bart D. Erhman, the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hil, and Craig A. Evans, the Payzant Distinguished Professor of New Testament at Acadia Divinity College of Acadia University.

Bart Erhman is the the author of over 20 books including the bestselling “Misquoting Jesus: The Story of Who Changed the Bible and Why.” He has appeared on CNN, The History Channel, The Discovery Channel, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report.

Craig A. Evans is the author and editor of over 50 books including the highly acclaimed “Fabricating Jesus: How Modern Scholars Distort the Gospels.” He has participated in many interviews on Dateline NBC, CBC, CTV, BBC, History Channel, and The Discovery Channel.
