Webinar

As the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches we are always looking for opportunities and tools for supporting and encouraging churches in their God-given mission of faithfully living out the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We’re happy to announce one such resource: in conjunction with Commitment Ministries, we are offering a no-cost-to-you webinar series intended exclusively for pastors and lay-leaders of our CABC churches. The only thing you need to have is a computer with high-speed internet access enabling you to participate from your own office (or even favourite coffee shop!).

This webinar series will explore five key areas of leadership: Transformational Leadership, Board Development, Envisioning for the Future, Change Management and Capital Resourcing Campaigns. Each one-hour webinar will be Tuesday mornings 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, starting April 17th and concluding May 15th. (A 30 minute session on Monday, April 16th at 11:00 will be held to ensure that your computer settings (speakers) will allow you to take full advantage of the webinars.)

Whether you are part of a pastoral team or if you are leading a solo pastorate or are active serving in Board Leadership, you will benefit from Commitment Ministries 22 years of leadership and funding experience.

Each session will build on all the previous sessions so your participation from start to finish is encouraged.

Session one will speak to the fundamental shift that has occurred in the last 15 years in leading people and organizations. Based on research and experience, you will learn about transformational (servant) leadership and how it has proven to be the best leadership approach in both developing future leaders and engaging everyone in your congregation to see the vision become a reality.

Session two will address the key elements required and what responsibilities your church board has to the people they are leading.

Session three will show how the board and/or leadership team can, with a minimal investment of 8 hours together, create a new, preferred vision for the future as well as practical, workable plans for beginning the journey.

Session four will cover the topic of change and how to best manage those changes that will be required – in a way that engages everyone in the journey. Your people can feel challenged to rise to the great challenge of a new vision.

Session five – CMI will share their experience in working with over 300 churches in the area of Capital and Vision Resourcing Campaigns. In particular, they will be discussing the spiritual journey around finances and they will demonstrate how a church can raise at least 2-3 times their regular, annual receipted giving to see their vision become a reality. We believe that every church needs leaders with solid financial foundations in order to be effective in carrying out the Great Commission.

These webinars will be a wonderful opportunity to learn the most up-to-date tools to assist you in leading your people.

Please note that on Monday April 16th (11-11:30 ADT) there will be a test session where participants are able to test the video and audio quality of their computer to ensure a positive experience. Register for that here: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/673026606.
