The past few weeks have been a blessing and encouragement to our church body at Summerside Baptist Church (PE). We’ve experienced declarations of faith, a coming together in fellowship and times of deepened understanding of scripture. My role within this local congregation is to teach, equip, and disciple the youth – teaching them the importance of faith in Christ, the need for Christ and how to walk in accordance to the scriptures in a time of chaos and perversion. Over the past few months, I’ve had five youth come to me expressing interest in being baptized. I baptized two on October 30th and three on November 6th. We are excited to see what God is doing in and through our youth of our church.
I was reminded of Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8 when talking with our youth about Baptism
- Its only about professing Christ and declaring Him Lord of Lord and King of Kings
- We are not saved by baptism
- We are commanded to make disciples and then baptize those disciples
- We don’t need hours and hours of baptism classes, we need water.
Testimony of Samson Imanirambona
I was raised in a Christian home, in the country of Burundi in Africa. Which at the time was a war ravaged country, so, my family moved to P.E.I through a lot of prayer and travel. As a kid I did not really understand the concept of God, and growing up I gained a relationship with God. But as I grew I started to question God and if I should follow Him. It was through Camp Seggie and Youth group that helped strengthen my relationship with God. I see baptism as a way to declare my commitment to Jesus Christ and proclaim Him as Lord and Saviour.
