Acadia Divinity College Convocation

May 13-15 marks a weekend of celebration on the campus of Acadia University. Graduates of Acadia Divinity College and their families will gather for a Commissioning Supper and Service on Friday May 13. On Sunday May 15, there will be a Baccalaureate Service (11am @ Convocation Hall) followed by Convocation at 3pm at Convocation Hall. Acadia University will be awarding nearly 850 degrees in services on Sunday and Monday.

This year, our own Rev. Hugh McNally will be granted an honorary Doctor of Divinity in recognition of his ministry and service within our Convention. Hugh has served in many areas – as pastor, missionary. mentor, policy governance advisor, incorporation consultant, Baptist Historical Committee, just to name a few. This is an opportunity to recognize Hugh’s contribution to our Convention and thank God for gifting him in ways that impact the kingdom.

Also receiving an honorary doctorate and addressing the graduates of the University and Divinity College will be Stephen Lewis, a much sought after speaker and commissioner for the United Nations Development Program’s Global Commission on HIV and the Law. According to Acadia University’s website, the Convocation ceremonies will be streamed live here: http://alumni.acadiau.ca/.
