At Oasis 2017, we witnessed a special welcome by First Nations leaders (Dr. Terry & Bev LeBlanc, Rev. Dr. Danny Zacharias & Cheryl Bear) to New Canadians recently immigrated from Syria. It was a moving moment and representative of the European welcome to the land by First Nations communities many centuries ago.
