Oasis 2025 – Hope Upon Hope!

Dear CBAC Family,

What a week we had at Oasis 2025! Whether you joined us at Acadia University or were praying from afar, we sensed the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit moving among us—calling us to stay in step with the Spirit and get moving forward in mission together.

From start to finish, Oasis was bathed in prayer—morning prayer gatherings, prayer after rallies, spontaneous moments of people praying together, and months of prayer leading up to the event.

Hope Upon Hope

This year’s theme, Hope Upon Hope, came alive through our own CBAC pastors:

    • Rev. Renée MacVicar reminded us that our hope in God is active, not passive. Hope moves our feet.
    • Rev. Jeremy Vincent & Rev. Tammy Giffen declared that the good news is still powerful and transformative today. Jesus doesn’t just save us from something—He saves us for something. Atlantic Canada is not a spiritual desert—it’s a mission field, ripe for harvest.
    • Rev. Rob Nylen & Rev. Dr. Lennett Anderson challenged us with the hope of hospitality—there’s still room at God’s table for every colour, tribe, nation, and tongue.
    • Rev. Ross Watters proclaimed that Jesus is the hope of the church, and if God has faith in the church, so can we—because Christ is the head.

The sermons were recorded and are available here: https://atlanticbaptist.ca/oasis2025/

The worship, led by Matt Brouwer and the Lewisville Worship team, filled the theatre with heartfelt praise. Workshops engaged us on topics from connecting young leaders, grandparenting, welcoming new Canadians, to preaching, MAiD, and more.

By the Numbers:

    • 530 attendees (494 adults, 36 kids & youth)
    • 370 delegates representing churches across Atlantic Canada

Business Highlights:

    • Passed proposed CBAC general operating bylaw changes, including a shift in senior staff reappointment responsibilities to CBAC Council.
    • Renewed Rev. Dr. Garth Williams (Leadership Development & PEI Connector) and Rev. Kevin Vincent (Future Church & NB Connector) for another 5-year term.
    • Financial update: We have $234,962 left to raise by Aug. 31, 2025 to meet this year’s budget. Thank you to each person and church who gives faithfully! Let’s finish strong together. Give here »
    • Approved the 2025–26 budget to help us keep moving forward in our Overflowing with Hope vision. Churches, please prayerfully consider your budget contribution. Learn about the Church Appeal »
    • SOGI Resource Announcement (SOGI – Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity): The CBAC Council’s SOGI Working Group announced that Module 1 of the CBAC SOGI Church Engagement Resource will release this fall, with more coming winter 2026. Designed from listening to you, this resource will help churches navigate complex questions with biblical grounding, grace, truth and the heart of Jesus.

Other Highlights:

    • Launched new resources and events: Echo: Hearing God’s Call, ChurchLink – Church Partnership Conversations , and a Havens of Hope – Housing Resource.
    • 12 new ordinands were presented
    • Mark your calendars: CBAC Sunday will be the first Sunday in May every year—May 3, 2026 is next!
    • Reminder: Watch for scam emails pretending to be from me. If it’s not from , it’s not me.

Thank you and see you at Oasis 2026!

To everyone who came, served, prayed, and gave—thank you. You are part of a family that is truly Overflowing with Hope. Let’s keep that hope moving—into our neighbourhoods, our churches, and our world.

Mark your calendar for Oasis 2026 – August 6–8 in Wolfville, NS! Let’s keep building hope upon hope, together.

With hope in Christ,
Rev. Renée MacVicar
Executive Minister, CBAC
