2013 marks a milestone in Canada as we celebrate 250 years of Baptist witness in Canada. Imagine what life was like then when 13 church planters from Massachusetts arrived at Slack’s Cove, NB and would plant what we know as Middle Sackville Baptist Church. And imagine how long it took Ebenezer Moulton to travel from Yarmouth to the Annapolis Valley as he established the Horton (Wolfville) Baptist Church. How things have changed!
Even if you’re not a history buff, it’s exciting to think that Baptist witness in Canada started here and spread across the country. Think of it this way – Baptists across Canada can point to the east and say, “It all started there!”
We put this video together as part of the celebrations just to give a brief recap of what happened in 1763 that led to the birth of the Baptist movement in Canada.
