Intimate Partner Violence and The Church

i-believe-youEarlier in 2014, Dr. Lois Mitchell was invited to participate in a faith leaders panel through the Religion and Violence Research Team of the Muriel McQueen Fergguson Center for Family Violence Research. The discussion was on intimate partner violence and the faith community’s response to this within their own contexts and in their communities.

The panel was part of a public screening for the documentary “I BELIEVE YOU: Faiths’ Response to Intimate Partner Violence”, an Emmy nominated interfaith documentary that explores the stories of survivors of abuse and the response of faith groups to address their needs.

As a sociologist and the CABC’s Director of Public Witness and Social Concerns, Dr. Lois Mitchell is a great voice to have in this conversation and we greatly appreciate how God is using her to help us wade through issues such as family violence.
