Happy Father’s Day

June 15, 2014

fathers-dayHappy Father’s Day to all our dads and all those who are like dads to us! We give thanks for their example and all they mean to us. “As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:13)

All of us will have different thoughts and feelings associated with celebrating dads today – some positive, some negative. For some of us, our dads are still here and involved in our lives. For others of us our dads are no longer here or present in our lives.

Whatever your situation with your father, know that your Heavenly Father loves you and delights in you. “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)

As you celebrate dads today, remember and pray for those who have lost their dads in recent weeks and months. This is their first Fathers Day without their dads and they could use our prayers.
