Dear Fellow Atlantic Baptists, Greetings in the name of our Saviour and Lord.
At OASIS 2015 we voted to sell our office building in Saint John, New Brunswick and move to a more central location. The building was listed with a realtor last year. While there was some interest and several inquiries, there was no serious activity. When the contract with the original real estate company expired, we lowered the price and switched to another real estate company with more experience selling commercial property. This winter and spring (2016) there has been further interest and inquiries, but no real offers.
On behalf of the Council, I am sharing this information with you to ask that your church and Association earnestly pray for the sale of the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches building and for a smooth transition to a new location in Moncton. It is important that the building sell soon so that we can both ease the concerns and anxiety of the staff and in order to utilize our resources as wisely as possible. As you can imagine, all the staff are affected in some way or another; some will be retiring, some moving, and some will be required to seek alternate employment. While staff have been briefed concerning the office relocation, the lack of movement on the sale of the building extends and heightens the period of uncertainty. It is our belief that it would be in the best interest of everyone involved for this relocation to be effected as soon as is practically possible.
So, we would ask that you please make this issue a special prayer concern and ensure all our constituents know and understand the issue so that they can all continue to pray diligently for the sale of the office building and the issues associated with the move to Moncton.
Yours in Christ,
James Allison McIsaac, CABC President
